A little background: I once escaped from the semi-inhabitable land they call Rexburg, Idaho. And now, almost two years later, I plan on going back.
I should have my head examined (I have an appointment).
Horrible weather, miniscule population, and lack of entertainment aside; I miss all my friends like crazy; All the people I went to BYU with, worked with in Idaho Falls, etc.
I’ll be gone Thursday night through Sunday night. I need to wake up in a few hours to go shopping for some Antarctica-proof-clothing in hope that they might slow down the freezing of my vital organs. I want myself the best possible chance of survival.
I might even try to post while I’m up there since I’m taking my MacBook with me (I’m banking on Rexburg still having electricity).

Ok let’s be honest, there were many reasons. But yesterday remembered the most significant.
I got ready for work; Showered, dressed, put on my tie and labcoat then marched out the door, not expecting a gust of freezing air to hit my face. A lot of people say they “hate the cold” — but I mean it. This, my friend is not a joke.
I’ve accepted that it will get cold in Fall and even more so in the Winter, but listen up, Weather: There needs to be a gradual change between seasons. Friday I was out the door in shorts, a t-shirt and flip-flops. TWO DAYS LATER — I have to start layering to avoid hypothermia. What the heck is going on.
I guess I can still be grateful it doesn’t snow here like it does in Idaho. And I will say this: Anyone that stays in a place so inhabitable as Rexburg for more than a year needs to have their head examined.
[sidenote: If you have some spare time [and I know you do, because you're reading blogs] search YouTube or something for Lewis Black and his standup routine on Fall and the weather, it’s quite entertaining.]
